Here's my step-by-step on my 3UP entry @ PaperArtsy
So what is 3UP I hear you say....
Well in the words of Leandra @ PaperArtsy, it's simple. 3 volunteers are selected each evening over on the PaperArtsy blog. When a semester concludes at the end of a 4 month period, we {PaperArtsy} end up with a spare week before the new semester commences. This is the perfect opportunity for us {Leandra & team @ PaperArtsy} to feature the work of you, our blog, twitter and Facebook followers, and for you to show us your personal style with our newest releases. You guessed it I was lucky enough to get the chance to join the 3UPsters!
So to kick off I used stamp set EDY06 & EDY08

Which can be purchased at PaperArtsy
First I opened my journal and selected 4 pages to use, then taking the middle 2 I tore a border round.
Next I spritzed my backing page with water for a base for the inks, on the background I have used Dylusions Lemon Zest & Pomegranate Seed, you can see how the water used as a base helps the inks to mix easily. Then I have dried my page doing the same on the other backing sheet, next I have taken the leaf stamp from set EDY06 and stamped a border all around the outer edge. To finish I have highlighted with a white gelly roll pen.

My next step was to build up my centre pages, again using Dylusion ink sprays Lemon Zest & Polished Jade, dried with the heat gun then spritzed (slowly so you get the large droplets) with water left for a few seconds then used the heat gun again, this leaves you with bleached effect splodges, which I love.
next I stamped a border using the branch stamp from EDY08, and gradually built up a background using the houses, masking them to get the village effect.

Then came the fun part, I just adore steampunk and when I saw the steampunk cat in stamp set EDY06, I knew then exactly what I was going to do for my page. So I stamped the cat 6 times coloured 5 in browns & greys (promarkers), then for the 6th cat I coloured him vibrantly (because he wants to stand out from the crowd and 'be unique') cut him up and back together in a dancing pose. Also had to give him a funky hat which was created using the cog from another cat and some leaves, lets not forget the adorable steampunk snail (EM04) , I couldn't leave him out! Then it was just a case of arranging everything on my pages and sticking them into place. All of my characters were stamped and coloured on Smoothy cardstock .
You will notice there is a notch on the top left of the green page, this is for my tag where I will do my journaling. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my 'Party on Paper'!
Well done you xx

ReplyDeleteI thought I had commented on this fabulous page last night, but maybe I was having a senior moment, lol! Anyway, I do think it's fabulous. Love the parade of cats and the wonderful colours. Excellent showcasing of Darcy's stamps.
